Anthony Zinno Leads Day 1 of Limit Hold'em Championship
< After 10 levels of min-raising and min-betting, Anthony Zinno emerged as the chip leader of the $10,000 Limit Hold'em Championship after bagging 105,300 in chips.
117 players made their way to the Rio and put up a stack of high society for their shot at WSOP Gold. After 10, one hour levels, only 74 survived to see Day 2.
Joining Zinno atop the chip counts are Sorel Mizzi, Javed Abrahams, and Samuel Golbuff with 104,800, 102,300, and 94,080 in chips, respectively. The small field was full of top flight pros and Brock Parker, Jesse Martin, Daniel Negreanu, Brian Rast, Huck Seed, Eric Wasserson, and Justin Bonomo were just handful of pros to make it through the day.
Tommy Hang, Matt Glantz, Jeff Lisandro, Todd Brunson, Ronnie Bardah, Antonio Esfandiari, JC Tran, and Rep Porter are a few of the notables who failed to make it to the last hand of the day.
The remaining 74 players will return to the Rio to get cards in the air at 2 pm for the start of Day 2. The field will play another 10, one hour levels on Thursday and the money bubble will be popped sometime later in the day, with the final 18 players earning a payday of at least $15,606.
While the money will be reached on Thursday, the real prize will be earned on Friday night. The 117 players generated a prizepool of $1,099,800 and a first place prize of $291,456, which will be reached on Friday.
