Basebaldy Goes the Full Nine
The pot contains right around 3,500 and the board reads by the river.
Eric Baldwin sees his opponent check to him, so the pro slides a stack of 15,000 forward. The bet is really for 8,000 or so as Baldwin's opponent only holds this much behind, and that player goes into the tank for several minutes while agonizing over the decision.
"Man..." he says with a pained expression on his face. "You sure do make it hard."
More time passes and the player still sits with his cards capped. He reaches for a his stack once or twice, studying Baldwin while trying to gauge a reaction, but the pro is a silent statue betraying no emotion.
Finally, a third player at the table interrupts the stare down by declaring "I don't want to call the clock man, but it's been nine minutes now."
Another minute passes and the clock is still not called, but suddenly the tanker grabs his stack and heaps it forward for the call.
Baldwin instantly tables for top two pair, while the caller can only come up with for the bluff catcher.
