As the current Global Casino Championship bubble boy, we'll be keeping a close eye on Neil Scott (pictured) this afternoon.
The field is still filling in, but Scott has drawn one of the tougher starting tables in the early going. He's seated to the direct right of Josh Lowing, while Joe Tehan and Dennis Phillips are next-door neighbors on the other side of the table.
In a recent pot, Scott opens to 325 under the gun, Tehan calls on the button, and the big blind defends to create three-way action. The flop is . It checks to Tehan, and a bet of 250 from him is enough to coax two folds and earn him the pot right there.
Scott will likely be treading carefully today, probably needing just a min-cash to get back on the good side of the points cutoff. Despite that tiny loss, his chip count seems to indicate that his day has started off fairly well.
