Earning enough points to be among the season's top 50 earners is one way to qualify for the Global Casino Championship. There's a bit of a shortcut way to qualify too, though, as each venue sends their top points earner to the Championship with an automatic bid, too.
Event #1 winner Curtis Terry is the current leader in the Casino Champion race for Harrah's New Orleans. In addition to that win in the opener, Terry made another final table and added a third cash, bringing him to 70 points to set the pace entering closing weekend. He's a likely candidate to enter this Main Event at some point.
Most of the other ring winners from this series are tied at 50 points apiece, and a few of them are already in the Day 1A field. Five-time Circuit winner Brandon Fish will likely qualify on points alone, but he's in the field on time this morning, looking to take the shortcut to Harrah's Cherokee. Steve Dees is also here, while Caufman Talley, Brian Grier, and Scott Adams have yet to be spotted.
