EVENT UPDATE

Sunday, April 23, 2017 10:00 AM Local Time
Day 2 of Main Event Starts at Noon

After two days of starting flights, the WSOP Circuit Harrah's Cherokee $1,675 no-limit hold'em main event will merge the survivors of those two flights to one field on Saturday afternoon for Day 2.

Cards get in the air at noon and the 210 entries will have cashing the event on their minds, with the top 117 players earning at least a min-cash of $2,863. The top spot, however, is worth $318,646, a Circuit ring, and an automatic entry into this August's Global Casino Championship, also here in Cherokee.

Everybody returning is chasing Chance Kornuth, who comes into Day 2 with a big chip lead. The bracelet winner starts the day with 436,500 and is the only player over the 400,000-chip mark.

Other notables near the top of the counts include Spencer Champlin (354,000), Josh Vizcarra (342,000), and Jason Gooch (339,000). Ryan Jones, Ari Engel, Jesse McVicker, Joseph Elpayaa, Lytle Allen, 2009 WSOP $50,000 Poker Players Championship bracelet winner David Bach, Chris Conrad, Martin Ryan, Brad Albrinck, Krzysztof Stybaniewicz, Chris Bell, and Aaron Massey are just a few of the notables still alive. Complete chip counts for today's field can be found in the reports tab above.

The levels will be increased today and the levels will jump to 60 minutes for the duration of the tournament. The schedule for the day is to play 10, 60-minute levels and then play down to a winner on Monday. Check back with WSOP.com for complete coverage of all the day's action.
