Flight A Finishes With 23 Surviviors

Flight A has come to a close at the Palm Beach Kennel Club. The first flight of two Main Event starting flights drew 119 players. The flight lasted 15 levels and 23 players ended up surviving the entire day to bag. Leading the field at the end of the night was Jake Dollinger (pictured) with 349,000 chips. It is a nice bounce back for Dollinger after bubbling the $1k last night. Following Dollinger in the counts is Alex Nguyen with 225,500 chips. Nguyen's last cash at this property was a gold ring victory in the six max event in February of 2015.

Other players to survive Flight A include gold ring winners Bob Beck and Vincent Moscati. Last year's winner of this event, Peter Vitantonio bagged 59,000 chips and circuit grinder Chad Eveslage bagged a short stack.

The 23 surviving players from Flight A will return Sunday at noon for Day 2 of the tournament. They will be joined by everyone who bags tomorrow in Flight B. Day 2 will begin at the start of Level 16: 1,500/3,000 with a 500 ante and all levels for the remainder of the tournament will be one hour long.

Players that were not fortunate enough to bag include two-time gold ring winner Andrew Lauer, Ryan Van Sanford, Jason Brauda, and A.J. Kelsall. 2015 November Niner Josh Beckley fired twice and busted twice. He wasn't the only player to go through two bullets. Russ Head had a tough day and busted in Level 3. He re-entered and then busted again, this time in Level 5. Head intends to be back for Flight B tomorrow to take another shot.

Flight B will begin tomorrow at noon. Registration will again remain open until the start of Level 13, which will be about 9:45 p.m. Players will be allowed one re-entry if they bust during the registration period. Shortly after registration closes, the prizepool will be calculated and posted.

Top five chip counts from Flight A:

1st: Jake Dollinger - 349,000
2nd: Alex Nguyen - 225,500
