Soukha Kachittavong Leads High Roller End of Day One
Soukha Kachittavong - End of Day 1 Chip Leader
Over the course of the day, there was a steady stream of entries into the $3,250 High Roller Event #11 at Foxwoods. It was a star-studded
field that included a lot of recognizable names. At the end of the day,
the clock read 37 entries, but the total number of entries into this
event is likely to exceed that number, as registration is open until the
start of play tomorrow at 2:00 pm.
By the end of 12 levels of play, 10 players bagged up chips at the end of Day 1. Those
ten players will join with any others opting to register directly into the
event prior to the start of play. Foxwoods regular Soukha Kachittavong had a rough start to his day. In the first
level of play he lost over 2/3 of his stack, and tablemate Roger
Palombizio joked that Kachittavong was only trying to, "level the
playing field," by losing a lot of chips early on so that other players
had a chance. Little did Palombizio know that Kachittavong would end up bagging the chip lead at the end of
the night ending with 158,100. Rounding out the top three are Zach Donovan (152,000), and the current world champion Joe McKeehen (145,600). Mike Dentale started the day strong, and was the breakout chip leader of the day. He maintained the lead for the entire first half of the day, but in the last half of the night the chip lead began to shift drastically as more players were eliminated.
The last female standing in Day 1 was Laurie Hilton who was ultimately eliminated in the last level of the night by Mike Dentale. Hilton has had a strong showing in the Foxwoods series. She placed 49th in the Re-Entry Event #2 for $2,100, final tabled and took 4th place in the $580 Event #8 for $4,843, and was eliminated in 21st from the Main Event today, taking home an additional $6,348.

Day 2 begins at 2:00 pm tomorrow, and will resume at Level 13 (800/1,600 blinds with
a 200 ante). All prizepool information will be posted after
