2015 $3,000 Shootout Champion Nick Petrangelo
Welcome to Day 1 coverage of Event #42: $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout.
For those unfamiliar with shootout formats, each table is its own sit-n-go style tournament. The winner of each table advances to the following round.
Last summer, Nick Petrangelo bested a field of 308 players in this event to capture his first World Series of Poker bracelet, topping a final table that included Jason Les, David Peters, James Woods, and two-time bracelet winner Loni Harwood. However, after bagging a top-ten stack in Event #39, there is a chance Petrangelo wont be defending his title today and a new champion could emerge.
The plan for the day is for one round to be played, with the winner of each table securing a min-cash and locking up a seat on Day 2.
