Roland Israelashvili Wins his 4th Circuit Ring in Monster Stack Event

Roland Israelashvili - now a four-time Circuit ring winner

Las Vegas (5 March, 2016) – At About 2:30 Saturday morning, Roland Israelashvili won the Monster Stack event at the World Series of Poker Circuit at Bally’s Las Vegas. He earned $41,888 for the victory.

The Monster Stack Event gives players twice as many tournament chips as a standard Circuit event. That extends the playing time and tends to favor skilled players.

Israelashvili certainly falls into that category. This is his fourth WSOP Circuit ring, tying him for fourth-place on the all-time list. His last ring came at the tail end of last season at Foxwoods.

This is also Israelashvili’s 34th career Circuit cash. The player who holds the record for most career cashes – Doug “Rico” Carli – finished in 37th place in this Monster Stack tournament, extending his own record to 103.

After the event, Israelashvili said he didn’t really have any plans to celebrate, except for jumping into the Circuit Main Event at Bally’s on Saturday.

The tournament started at noon on Thursday with 681 players. The total prize pool was $204,300, and the top 72 places made the money. At the end of play Thursday night, 48 players remained. They returned at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, and reached the final table at about 10:30 p.m. Israelashvili secured his victory just before 2:30 a.m.
