David Miller takes down the PLO event to win his first career gold ring.

Stateline, Nev. (November 6, 2015) -- David Miller has just won Event #9 - $365 Pot-Limit Omaha. It was the series' only non-hold'em event, it was also the series' smallest event. Miller earned $8,277 and his first WSOP Circuit gold ring for his victory.

"I'm pretty stoked. I didn't think it would come in Pot-Limit Omaha, I am pretty new to this game," said Miller about winning his first gold ring.

Miller is a local professional poker player. He mainly plays No-Limit Hold'em cash games, but plays in some tournaments. According to Miller, he really likes playing PLO and that is a major reason he played in this tournament, but it is rarely spread in the area, so he is still relatively new to the game.

"It was actually a lot of fun. It was probably the most fun I have had playing a poker tournament in a long time. No stress at all. I just love playing PLO," said Miller.

Miller was second in chips coming into Day 2. The player in front of Miller was Steve Foutty. Foutty has dominated at this property over the past two years and it looked like for a while he would end up winning his second gold ring of the series. Foutty wasn't able to take advantage of his chip lead and ended up finishing in third place. It was Foutty's third final table of the series. The third place finish extended Foutty's lead in the Casino Championship race. He won the title last year here in Tahoe and is in good shape to win it again this year.

Miller will be playing in Flight B of the Main Event looking to ride his run-good into another gold ring, and a six-figure score.

Event #9 was the ninth of 12 gold ring events on the WSOP Circuit schedule at Harveys Lake Tahoe. The $365 Pot-Limit Omaha tournament attracted 92 players generating a $27,600 prize pool. The top 12 players were paid.
