Karina Jett Knows the Ladies

Karina Jett knows what it takes to get through a women's tournament -- she made back-to-back final tables in this event in 2003 and 2004, finishing fourth both times. Last year, she finished 21st in a field of 1,060. This year, she made it through Day 1 ready to make a run at another final table.

Veronica Dabul

Veronica Dabul is a sponsored pro from Argentina going for her first bracelet in the WSOP Ladies Event.

Kathy Liebert Plays as Strong as She Always Does

Kathy Liebert has earned more money in live tournaments than any other woman in poker -- more than $5.7 million -- and is the only woman in the top 50 on the all-time money list. (Liebert is #38.) While the WSOP Ladies Event has a different atmosphere than most WSOP events, Liebert continues to play her A game. As the dealer puts out the turn card, Liebert's eyes are locked on her opponent to pick up any potential tells.

Lizzy Harrison

Poker video producer/hostess Lizzy Harrison takes her shot at winning a bracelet in the WSOP Ladies Event. Harrison would survive Day 1 with a good shot at making the money on Day 2.

Elaine Chaivarlis

Elaine Chaivarlis takes the day off from reporting on the World Series of Poker to play in the World Series of Poker. As you can see, she was having a great time in the early levels of the WSOP Ladies Event.

Lacey Jones Sports a New Sponsorship

Lacey Jones is all smiles on Day 1 of the WSOP Ladies Event, which was the public announcement for her new sponsorship deal. In addition to her time at the tables, Jones often works as a hostess within the poker industry. The good mood suited Jones well, as she played her way through the field to survive to Day 2.

Actress Jennifer Elise Cox

A handful of actresses make the trek from Hollywood to play in the WSOP Ladies Event, including Jennifer Elise Cox. Cox is probably best known for her portrayal of Jan Brady in the 1995 comedy, "The Brady Bunch Movie," a role she originated in the Broadway version that predated the film.

The Cook, the Baker, the Online-Pro Maker

From left to right: Michele Lawson (wife of poker pro Ted Lawson), Marilyn Guess (mother of poker pro Mark "PokerH0" Kroon), and poker journalist Jessica Welman sit side-by-side-by-side on Day 1 of the WSOP Ladies Event. Lawson is known for bringing homemade treats to the poker media, and Welman has recently been baking treats for her media colleagues as well.

Erica Schoenberg

Professional poker player (and former professional blackjack player) Erica Schoenberg joins the field for the WSOP Ladies Event.

Courtney Kennedy

Courtney Kennedy is one of hundreds of women who come out to Las Vegas to play in the WSOP Ladies Event. Kennedy came from her home in Detroit, Michigan.
