Mick Carlson vs. Scott Montgomery Tournament Director Nikki Ivey watches as a hand plays out between Mick Carlson (right) and Scott Montgomery in Event #37 ($1,000 No-Limit Hold'em). Carlson is a 23-year-old student who primarily plays online, and this is already far and away the biggest score of his live tournament career. Montgomery, on the other hand, already has two high-profile fifth-place finishes (one on the World Poker Tour, and more notably, in the 2008 WSOP Main Event). Montgomery would later say, "I've had like 10 final tables, and I have never had anything in the top three. I keep getting fifth and whatever. I started to think I wasn't that good at final tables." Adam Richardson Moves All In November Niner Scott Montgomery (left) watches as Adam Richardson moves all in at the final table of Event #36 ($1,000 No-Limit Hold'em). Richardson was short-stacked, but he would survive this hand to go further in pursuit of the coveted WSOP bracelet. Danny Fuhs Danny Fuhs makes the second WSOP final table of his career in Event #36 ($1,000 No-Limit Hold'em). His previous WSOP final table was in this same event last year, where he finished in ninth place for $114,167. Fuhs hopes to go further this time and pick up his first WSOP bracelet. A Huge Crowd Gathers to Witness History While there were only a few dozen people present when Phil Ivey won Event #37 ($3,000 H.O.R.S.E.) at 4:30 am, there are more than a thousand gathered in the Pavilion Room to watch him receive his bracelet. The Star-Spangled Banner Jack Binion (left) and Phil Ivey place their hands over their hearts while the U.S. national anthem ("The Star-Spangled Banner") is played during the WSOP bracelet ceremony. A Few Words From Phil Ivey Phil Ivey takes the podium to answer questions from the poker media about winning his eighth WSOP bracelet. It was Ivey's third WSOP bracelet in the past two years, and he thinks he has an excellent shot of breaking the career record (11, held by Phil Hellmuth). Jack Binion and Ty Stewart Jack Binion (left) is on hand at the Rio to take part of Phil Ivey's bracelet award ceremony. Binion ran the World Series of Poker for many years when it was held at Binion's Horseshoe Casino in downtown Las Vegas. Binion waits for the start of the ceremony with Ty Stewart, the WSOP's Head of Marketing and Vice President of Harrah's Interactive Entertainment. The Assembled Media Members of the poker media have gathered on stage for Phil Ivey's press conference on winning his eighth WSOP bracelet, while fans begin to fill in the floor behind them. Waiting For Ivey The podium is ready for Phil Ivey, who will be giving a brief press conference before being presented with the eighth WSOP bracelet of his career.
