ALL LAFAYETTE, ALL THE TIME

Event #4 champion, Caufman Talley, receives a sweat from Event #1 winner, Blake Barousse (left) and Event #3 winner, Travis Johnston (right). All three players reside in Lafayette, LA. Talley's victory came in the first re-entry event of the 2012-13 WSOP Circuit season presented by Southern Comfort 100 Proof. This was gold ring number for two Talley and he was awarded $29,743.



THE CHAMP IS BACK

Last year Jerry Monroe beat out 337 entrants in the WSOP Circuit at IP Biloxi Main Event. Monroe won $112,779 for the performance, but he's back for more in 2012-13. He is pictured playing in the $365 No-Limit Hold'em Re-Entry event.



BURKETT BLASTS THROUGH TURBO FIELD

Don't let her charming smile fool you. Elisa Burkett is ruthless on the poker table. It took her just 10 hours to blast through the field of the $580 No-Limit Hold'em Turbo tournament held at IP Casino Resort and Spa in Biloxi, MS. Burkett joined an elite group of female poker players in winning an open ring event on the WSOP Circuit.



WE HAVE A WINNER!

Blake Barousse drew first blood in the 2012-13 WSOP Circuit Presented by Southern Comfort 100 Proof. He won the first event of the record-breaking series and took home the first gold ring of 2012-13. The newest WSOP Circuit season began August 9, 2012, in Biloxi, MS and will run almost non-stop until the conclusion of the WSOP National Championship in New Orleans on May 23, 2013.



THE FIRST FINAL TABLE OF 2012-13

The first final table of the 2012-13 WSOP Circuit presented by Southern Comfort 100 Proof was reached Friday evening in Biloxi, MS after the elimination of Leslie Roussell (Seat 5) in 10th place. This is the first of 240 final tables slated to take place in the most recent WSOP Circuit season. The winner of this tournament will receive $15,757 and the first gold ring of 2012-13.



IT'S A TURBO, AFTER ALL...

It didn't take long to lose our first few players in the $580 No-Limit Hold'em Turbo tournament at IP Biloxi on Friday. With starting stacks of 12,500 and blinds at 25/50, we lost four players in the first 30 minutes. It's a turbo, after all...



2012-13 WSOP CIRCUIT ACTION STARTS UP AT IP BILOXI

The 2012-13 WSOP Circuit presented by Southern Comfort 100 Proof began Thursday, August 9 at IP Casino Resort and Spa in Biloxi, MS. The new season boasts four new stops -- Horseshoe Cleveland, Harrah's Cherokee, Foxwoods Casino and for the first time ever, the WSOP Circuit will set roots outside of U.S. soil when River Rock casino in Vancouver, British Columbia hosts a 12 Rings in 12 Days event later this year. Additionally, the WSOP National Championship has relocated to New Orleans and will IMMEDIATELY follow the completion of the WSOP Circuit.



AND THE FINAL NUMBER IS....945!

The largest poker tournament ever held in New Orleans took place this week at Harrah's. The opening event drew a whopping 945 players, which smashed the all-time record previously set six years ago.



ALL ABOARD THE STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE

The last chance for poker players to qualify for the WSOP Circuit National Championship takes place at Harrah's New Orleans, from May 10-21. The dozen gold ring events provide players with the last opportunity to earn points to qualify for the nationally-televised championship, to be played in Las Vegas in July. Harrah's New Orleans has hosted the final WSOP Circuit stop each season, since inception in 2005.



Kevin Balsman Wins Pot-Limit Omaha Championship

Kevin Balsman, from St. Louis, MO won Event #3 and collected nearly $12,000 along with his first WSOP Circuit gold ring. Balsman's victory came on a record-setting day when Event #4 generated the largest turnout for a poker event in Missouri history.
