•	Negreanu won his first major tournament at the 1997 World Poker Finals at Foxwoods at 21 years of age.

•	Two years later, Negreanu won the US Poker Championship in Atlantic City and the World Series of Poker $2,000 pot limit.

•	Negreanu's poker achievements by age 24 earned him the nickname Kid Poker.

•	At the 2004 World Series of Poker, Negreanu was named the Toyota Player of the Year after winning a bracelet and cashing in five events.

•	Negreanu was the runner up at the 2009 World Series of Poker Europe, finishing in second to Barry Shulman. His finish made him the all-time tournament money earner with over $12 million in lifetime earnings.

•	Negreanu has been a vegan since 2003.

•	Born to Romanian parents who fled to Toronto, Canada from their communist homeland in 1967, Negreanu spent his teen years hustling pool and playing poker. He dropped out of high school one credit short of graduating to pursue a career in poker.
