Nolan Dalla - WSOP.com Senior Writer
Nolan Dalla's work is found all over WSOP.com, as he is the Senior Writer for poker's longest-running poker series and has contributed to the site since 2005.
He is also the longtime Media Director of the World Series of Poker. He's become the lone link from poker's modern age back to the old days when the WSOP was played at Binion's Horseshoe - where Dalla served as the casino's Director of Public Relations.
Following an early career spent in Washington, DC working for the U.S. State Department, Dalla transitioned into poker during the early 1990s. An Atlantic City regular, he started writing for Card Player in 1993 and eventually created the magazine's "Player of the Year" ranking system - which is still in use today.
Dalla has written for virtually every poker and gambling publication in the business, focusing primarily on both poker and sports betting.
One of a Kind," the best-selling biography of poker legend Stu Ungar was authored by Dalla and has received widespread critical acclaim and is considered amongst the best ever written on the game of poker.
Dalla's philosophy of poker writing and reporting is as follows: "Every single player has a story to tell. Every player has something interesting to say, and most have experiences that can empower and inspire others. My job is to dig and ultimately discover what those things are and convey them as best I can to fans of the game everywhere."
Dalla views poker more than just a card game. He sees poker as laboratory of experimentation where people from all walks of life are tested. Some win. Many lose. But ultimately, the winning and losing isn't so much measured in dollars and gold bracelets so much as meeting the challenge, standing tall, and surviving the ride.
No one in poker has written more event or winner stories on poker than Dalla, as he has covered the WSOP Circuit tour since its inception in 2004 and has handled every single WSOP gold bracelet event since that time.
Dalla also serves on the Governing Council of the Poker Hall of Fame, helping oversee the list of candidates and inductees and ensuring that a proper voice is given to each and every nomination.
Today, Dalla lives in Las Vegas. But much of his year is spent traveling with the WSOP Circuit to its many tour destinations.
