Billy Cashwell Wins Main Event at Harrah’s, Cherokee

August 12, 2019 (Cherokee) - 13 Events in the second stop of the World Series of Poker Circuit have wrapped up as of Monday night at Harrah’s Casino in Cherokee, North Carolina. Each event had very successful numbers, with the second flight of the series getting a whopping 2,766 entries. This event was the first time we saw Jesse Jones cash taking home a small prize before finishing in second place in the $1,125 and taking first place in the $400 No-Limit Hold’em, giving him the Casino Champion crown which has sealed him a free seat into the 2020 Global Casino Championship.

Ryan Eriquezzo won his second World Series of Poker gold bracelet by taking down in the 2019 Global Casino Championship. The field was very tough, having to get through Maurice Hawkins, Joshua Reichard, Stephen Song, Paul Sokoloff, Jake Bazeley, and Will Berry to name a few of the well-known players. Eriquezzo took home $279,431 on top of his gold bracelet.

This series had multiple first-time ring winners including,
Tyler Phillips, Alex Duvall, Zachary Caldwell, Nicholas Mandikos, Joshua Martin, Bradley Batt, Jesse Jones, and Irene Carey.

There were also some players earning rings to add to their collections including, Eric Salaazar (3rd ring), Shadrach Tercy (2nd), Emil Bise (2nd), and Andrew Kelsall (2nd)

Billy Cashwell was the winner of the Main Event, defeating a field of 1,057 players and earning himself $271,234 taking home his first WSOP Circuit gold ring. With this victory he has also locked in a free seat into the 2020 Global Casino Championship.

Casino Champion Update

Jesse Jones will win the title of Casino Champion. Jones cashed in three events, making final table in two of them. He finished in second place in Event #9: $1,125 No-Limit Hold'em and he won one ring, in Event #11: $400 No-Limit Hold'em (1-Day). This gave him the lead and he held onto it throughout the main event and the final Event #13.
