CIRCUIT RETURNS TO HORSESHOE HAMMOND THURSDAY

Gold ring events run Thursday, October 11 through Monday, October 22.

Over $1,750,000 in Guarantees is up for grabs at the home of the largest WSOP Circuit Main Event in history.

Hammond, IN. (October 09, 2018) — The World Series of Poker Circuit continues this Thursday, October 11 at Horseshoe Hammond in Hammond, IN. for the 7th of 28 stops on the 2018/2019 schedule. Up for grabs at the Chicago area property will be 13 gold ring events, two National Championship berths and multiple expected six-figure first place prizes. Horseshoe Hammond is one of the biggest stops on the circuit and is sure to produce many large fields and prize pools throughout the series.

Action kicks off with a massive $400 No-Limit Hold’em Re-entry tournament that includes five starting flights. There is a whopping $777,777 Guaranteed Prize Pool on this opening event that permits unlimited re-entry through the registration period. Last year’s installment of the event saw Jonathan Tamayo navigate his way through a huge field of 2,349 entrants to transform his $365 buy in into a six-figure score of $101,404 and his third gold ring.

Other events set to grace this year’s schedule include a $1,125 No-Limit Hold’em Big Blind Ante tournament, the prestigious $5,300 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller and of course, the $1,700 Main Event. The first starting flight of the $1,000,000 Guaranteed Championship event begins Friday, October 19th and is followed by the second and final flight the very next day, Saturday, October 20th. Players are permitted a total of one re-entry to be used in any combination of starts days — A-B, A-A- or B-B. In addition to the largest score of the series, the Main Event champion heads home with a Circuit gold ring and a berth in the Global Casino Championship where they’ll compete for their share of the prize pool and a WSOP bracelet. Last year Blake Battaglia, a Chicago-area poker player, conquered the 1,247 entrant field to earn $320,020 as well as his first gold ring.

Two players from the series, the Main Event winner and Casino Champion, both earn a free seat in the the Global Casino Championship. “Casino Champion” will be determined by which player accumulates the most points during the 13 gold ring events. The Global Casino Championship is an exclusive, invitation-only event.
