NEXT UP ON THE CIRCUIT: POTAWATOMI

Potawatomi's second-ever Circuit features $1M in guaranteed prize money.

Milwaukee, Wis. (January 30, 2018) -- The World Series of Poker Circuit has already completed 15 of the 26 stops on the 2017-2018 schedule. Stop number 16 lands in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin for the second-ever Circuit at the Potawatomi Hotel & Casino.

Thursday, February 1st, marks the first day of the Potawatomi Circuit and features two ring events. Action will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a one-day, No-Limit Hold'em tournament. Then, at 4:00 p.m., Event #2: Pot-Limit Omaha Re-Entry will get underway.

There will be 12 gold ring events held in total, three of which boast a guarantee for a total of $1,000,000 in guaranteed prize money. Event #3: $365 No-Limit Hold'em Re-Entry features four starting flights and a $150,000 guarantee, up $50,000 from last year. The Monster Stack was left without a guarantee the first time around, but now returns with a $100,000 prizepool minimum.

Lastly, the $1,675 Main Event, which begins Friday, February 9th, carries a guaranteed prizepool of $750,000, along with two separate starting flights. The Main Event's conclusion on Monday, February 12th will bring a conclusion to the Milwaukee-area Circuit.

Potawatomi's inagural Main Event winner was, Alex Aqel.The 33-year-old from Chicago, Illinois captured his first WSOP gold ring and banked just over $200,000 from his Main Event conquest last season.

The winner of the Main Event and the Casino Champion will earn a seat to the 2018 Global Casino Campionship. There they will compete for a minimum $1 million prizepool, as well as a coveted gold bracelet. To become the Casino Champion a player must earn the most points at a given Circuit stop. Players earn points based on how well they finish in a tournament. More information on the Global Casino Championship leaderboard can be found on WSOP.com.
