THE BOSSIER CITY CIRCUIT SERIES SET TO KICK OFF
After a stretch of action in the Midwest and along the West Coast, the WSOP Circuit series heads back down South today for the start of the Horseshoe Bossier City Circuit Event.  This is the tour's third visit to the Louisiana venue, which is located just across the river from the city of Shreveport.

The venue, which is located just 200 miles from the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, allows the grinders from the birthplace of the poker scene to test their poker skills on the Circuit felt.

This year, we will crown twelve new Circuit ring winners and two players will punch their tickets to the WSOP National Championship to be held in Atlantic City in May. Both the Bossier City Main Event winner as well as the Bossier City Casino Champion will earn their seat to the season-ending championship.  Players in all 12 of the ring events will earn qualifying points for both the Casino Champion race and the points race for one of the at-large bids to the National Championship.

Last season, several players won Bossier City rings that helped them earn enough points to qualify for the National Championship, including Benjamin Reason, now four-time ring winner Caufman Talley, and bracelet winner Jonathan Taylor.  Another bracelet winner, "Captain" Tom Franklin, also found himself in the winner's circle.

Jeff Gibralter took the Bossier City Main Event title last year, defeating a field of 405 players. Gibralter took home $133,648, not to mention his first gold ring. The Bossier City Casino Champion last year was Quan Nguyen, who put on one of the most dominant Casino Champion performances of the season by cashing in an astounding six of twelve events, finishing second in three separate tournaments, taking 16th in the Bossier City Main Event, and racking up over 100 points in the process.

The action on the Red River kicks off today with Event #1, the $365 No-Limit Hold 'em.  The opening weekend of action also features a $365 re-entry event with two flights that runs on Saturday and Sunday.  The Main Event, which is a $1,675 single re-entry tournament, begins with the first of two starting days on Friday  November 15th and continues through Monday the  The action at the Horseshoe Bossier City runs through November 18th and you can view the full schedule of events on WSOP.com.
