TUNICA, MS – January 31, 2012 – Since hosting its first tournament in 2005, World Series of Poker action has become a mid-south winter tradition in Tunica, MS.  

That tradition continues February 2 when the WSOP Circuit returns to Harrah’s Tunica.

The 10th stop scheduled for the 2011-2012 season, the Circuit Series at Harrah’s Tunica will feature poker tournament buy-ins ranging from $125-$1,600 and include variations of the game such as Hold’em, Omaha, H.O.R.S.E. as well as a highly-anticipated No-Limit Hold’em heads up event.

Beginning, January 27th, Harrah’s Tunica will host a series of daily noon, 5pm and 7pm preliminary events with buy-ins ranging from $125-$235. See the full schedule for details.

As with the other WSOP Circuit stops, the Harrah’s Tunica Circuit Series will include 12 official Ring Events, through which players can earn points to qualify for a seat to the WSOP Circuit National Championship to be held in Las Vegas this summer. The National Championship is a nationally-televised WSOP gold bracelet event featuring a million-dollar prize pool put up by Caesars Entertainment and the WSOP.

Last year’s WSOP Circuit National champion, Sam Barnhart, a software analyst from Little Rock Arkansas, qualified for his seat after winning the WSOP Circuit Main Event at Harrah’s Tunica. His earnings from the two combined events totaled $448,612.

In addition to the 12 ring events scheduled at Harrah’s Tunica, the Seniors No-Limit Hold’em event takes place Sunday, January 29th while the ladies event begins Sunday, February 5.

The WSOP Circuit Main Event at Harrah’s Tunica gets underway Saturday, February 11 at noon.
