IP CASINO RESORT AND SPA TO HOST WSOP CIRCUIT OCT 28 THROUGH NOV 10
BILOXI, MS - After a record-breaking tour in Chicagoland’s Horseshoe Hammond, the World Series of Poker Circuit Events heads down south to the Biloxi, Mississippi Casino Hotel for the fourth stop of the 2010-2011 WSOPC season.

The IP Casino Resort and Spa will host the Gulf Coast’s first-ever WSOP Circuit Event, which takes place Thursday, October 28 through November 10.

Ten ring events are scheduled for the Biloxi Circuit, which will be held in the IP’s 37,000 square foot convention center and will culminate with the $1,600 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em Main Event Sunday, November 7. Other ring events will include variations such as Hold’em, Omaha Hi-Low and H.O.R.S.E.

Also scheduled for the 13-day series of poker tournaments are the $230 buy-in seniors event taking place Sunday, October 31 and the $120 buy-in ladies event to be played Saturday, November 6.

In addition, a variety of daily 4pm $230 buy-in events are scheduled along with nightly 7 pm $120 buy-in NLH tournaments. Satellites will be held throughout the duration of the series with buy-ins as low as $50.

Although the upcoming Circuit marks the WSOP’s maiden venture in Biloxi, the Gulf Coast resort town has for years been a welcome stop for a number of other major tournaments.

“Poker here in Biloxi started to take off shortly after Katrina with a number of different tours making stops here,” said Jim Sterling, poker room manager at the IP. “Now, with the WSOP, things are going to take off. We’ve already surpassed the number of hotel bookings compared to the last two events we’ve had here combined and we haven’t even started yet.”

Indeed, the World Series of Poker and the IP Biloxi already seem to be quite the pairing.

“We’ve worked very hard to put together this first event. Our online registration has been quite successful and already we’re looking to the future to make next year’s event even more tremendous.”

WSOP Circuit leader board points will be distributed to players based on their performance at Biloxi with the winner of the Main Event earning an automatic entry to the $1 million WSOPC National Championship to be held May 27-29 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

A second National Championship entry will be awarded to the player earning the most points through the 10 ring events at the IP.
