When it comes to poker tournaments, there are none bigger than the World Series of Poker, held annually each summer at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The man who has overseen the last 4 WSOP's is Tournament Director Jack Effel.   This means Jack has run the 4 largest poker tournaments in history!
A native of Dallas, Texas and a resident of Las Vegas since 2005, Effel is a players' tournament director, ensuring player comfort, friendly structures and optimal payouts are all part of his tournaments.  The affable Effel has served in almost every position in poker, including dealer, supervisor, manager, tournament director and director of poker operations.
Jack currently serves as the WSOP Tournament Director as well as Harrah's Interactive Entertainment's Vice President of International Poker Operations.
Effel has worked in poker hotbeds including Las Vegas, Louisiana and Mississippi and grew up playing the game in Dallas.
